 Question Types
 Quiz Manager > Question Types
  Description When following the Entering Quiz Question instructions, these question specific descriptions are for after general instructions 1-7.
 
  Multiple Choice
Choose one or more correct answers
- Select Add New Question
- Double click on Multiple Choice
- Name the question
- Type question in Question box
- Enter points in Points box
- Select single or multiple responses. If multiple response, be sure to let learners know in the body of the question how many answers you’re looking for or to select All that Apply
- Select Numbering type (BE CONSISTENT THROUGHOUT YOUR QUIZZES IN A PROGRAM)
- Click Add in the Answers area
- Type in your answer
- With the answer highlighted, click Advanced and check Advanced Answer Options to enter custom feedback for each answer to reinforce learning. Add the phrase “Click anywhere to continue” at the end of your feedback.
- Select Action depending on what you want learner to do next based on answer. Do this for each answer.
- Optional: Record customized audio by clicking the red record button or add a WAV or MP3 sound clip by clicking the folder and finding the clip in your folders. Tip: Start recording immediately after Breeze sets your voice level.
- Click OK
- Click Add to add another answer
- Select the radio button next to the correct answer

  True/False
Two possible fixed answers
- Select Add New Question
- Double click on True/False
- Name the question
- Type statement in Question box
- Enter points in Points box
- Select Numbering type (BE CONSISTENT THROUGHOUT YOUR QUIZZES IN A PROGRAM)
- Select True/False or Yes/No in the Type box
- Select the radio button next to the correct answer

  Fill in the Blank
Provide a list of words to choose from or have learners type in word of their own
- Select Add New Question
- Double click on Fill in the Blank
- Name the question
- Enter points in Points box
- Type in phrase to be completed in the Phrase text box
- Description: Put instructions for learners on how to fill in the blank or use Default
- Place cursor after the word just before the “blank” and click Add Blank
- Select how the learner will answer the question (unless you are absolutely certain you can cover all possibilities for correct answers – use Select an Answer from the List Below)
- Click Add until you have all possibilities. Be sure to provide all possible options for spelling, punctuation
- Decide if you answer is case sensitive and select or deselect the check box
- Click OK

  Short Answer
Learners provide a word, phrase, sentence or essay
- Select Add New Question
- Double click on Short Answer
- Name the question
- Type in the question in the Question box. Phrase your questions so it is easily answered by a short answer. For example “What do you think is the main color of the sky” is better than “What color is the sky?”
- Enter points in Points box
- Select Numbering type (BE CONSISTENT THROUGHOUT YOUR QUIZZES IN A PROGRAM)
- Click Add to add potential answers. This is a very difficult type of question to cover all possible answers for
- Check if answer is case sensitive
- Click OK

  Matching
Associate items in two lists
- Select Add New Question
- Double click on Matching
- Name the question
- Type in the question in the Question box. For example, “Match the job titles in the left column with the correct departments in the right column by dragging the departments to the left column”
- Change the names of the columns if appropriate
- Enter points in Points box. There is no partial credit.
- Click Add under each column and type in words to match. Be sure not to type in answers directly across from their matches.
- To establish Matches, drag and drop the right column answers to the left column matches
- Click OK

  Rating Scale
Express agreement level (no correct answers)

These are always survey questions

NOTE: DO NOT FOLLOW GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1-7 for this type
- Set up Quiz profile
- Select the slide before the location where you want the survey question to appear
- Go to Quiz Manager and select the quiz
- Click Add New Question
- Double click on Rating Scale
- Name the question
- Select Create Survey Question
- Change the default name of the question that will appear on the question slide to Quiz Question 1, for example
- Use default or edit Description to provide instructions
- Type in the questions in the Question area. You can add up to 5 different questions on one slide
- In the answer area, you can select the default text by clicking next to it or edit it by double clicking on it
- Click OK
- Click the Options Tab and select the settings
- Click the Reporting Tab and select the settings
