Displaying course titles correctly at the course-level and on SumTotal |

In a Presenter course, the course title needs to be inserted in 3 places if it is to display correctly in the course and in SumTotal.
To have the course appear at the course-level (on most Presenter templates, it is displayed above the outline), click on the "Adobe Presenter" menu item in PowerPoint and select "Presentation Settings". On the "Settings" tab on the dialog box that appears, enter the course title in the "Title" field and click "Ok"
To ensure the title displays correctly when the course runs on SumTotal, perform the following: Click on the "Adobe Presenter" menu item in PowerPoint and select "Quiz Manager>Reporting"; then click the "Manifest" button. In the dialog window that appears, the “Title” value in the “Course” section is displayed by SumTotal as the course title for registration, on transcripts, etc. The “Title” value in the “SCO” section is used by SumTotal on the Activity Progress Report Page.
The technical explanation behind the need for the title in two fields is that SumTotal’s Activity Report is designed to show progress details at a granular level. SCO’s (Sharable Content Objects) are the smallest unit in SCORM-compliant courses, usually a course page or lesson, and so SumTotal references each by it’s SCO name on the Activity Report, and provides it’s specific completion, time, score details. Since Presenter courses- and most Flash-based courses- are usually only made up of one SCO (they handle navigation, scoring, etc. within their own self-contained code), SumTotal displays the title of the only SCO in the course in the activity report, as opposed to the course title.
