- Prepare your narration in the notes pages of PowerPoint and your animations in PowerPoint. If you want to have animations synchronize with your narration, set animations as mouse clicks in PowerPoint. When you want your animations to automatically follow a previous animation, set them as With Previous.
- Attach a microphone you can record with into to the correct ports on your computer
- Click on Record Audio in Breeze menu in PowerPoint
- Say the words on the screen into your microphone to set the microphone level. Wait for the green to appear. If it turns green immediately (before you say anything), click Cancel and redo your message as it didn’t react to your voice but to other sounds.
- Click OK
- Click on View Script box and Record/Play This Slide Only
- Import narration notes from PowerPoint by clicking the Import Notes button
- Click All Slides under Slide Range and Replace current scripts with imported notes under Import Options
- Click OK
- Click Next to get to the slide you want to record on
- To begin recording, click the red round button (Record Audio)
- If there are animations for that screen, click Next Animation when you want the animation to occur during your narration
- To stop recording, click Stop Recording or the black square on the console.
- To listen to your narration and view the animation for that screen, click the Play (right triangle) button
- Click Next to continue narrating the next screen
- If you edit the script while in the recording mode, be sure to export it back into the PowerPoint slide notes. (Learners can view notes pages in an eBriefing) Click the Export button and the All Scripts, Replace existing notes with scripts radio buttons
- Click OK to save work when you’re done (this will take you out of the Recording console)
- View and listen to your slide by going to the Breeze menu>View Show. Use the Next button to locate the slide, Click the Play Audio (Forward Arrow) on the console
Note: Recording and synchronizing animations at the same time saves rework
