Embedding Audio Clips in Presenter
Presenter does not support sound files embedded directly on to slides, the way PowerPoint does. We tested various settings around the embedded audio clips and none allowed it to play when published.
Audio can only be played through Presenter by using its Import Audio and Audio Editor features (or in an embedded Flash movie containing sound). With this in mind, one solution may be to build the sound effect into the narration clip (have the sound effect play before or after the narration- or insert the sound at the appropriate place during the narration). If you don’t have audio editing software handy, you can use some of Presenters features to easily edit audio. Following the steps below will allow you edit your sound effects into your narration clips.
1) add a blank slide to your presentation and use the Import Audio feature to bring the sound effect into this slide.
2) Open the Audio Editor (found under the Adobe Presenter menu), and select the slide you added from the drop-down menu.
3) The sound track of the added audio clip will be displayed. Select the audio track by clicking and dragging over the entire track, then right-click and select “cut”. The track will be removed.
4) Go to the slide where you would like the audio to be inserted and click on its audio track. Then right-click and paste. The two audio clips will be combined on that slide.
5) You can then delete that empty slide that was added to import the audio into during the first step.
The Audio Editor also you to adjust volume of the sound clips, although it doesn’t have the functionality to overlay tracks to add a background sound.
As a side note: Animated gifs, which play correctly in PowerPoint slideshows, do not play in Presenter courses.
